Enroll TodayWhy Neurofeedback?
The experience of skilled neurofeedback therapists over decades shows that lasting, transformative outcomes are possible using this non-invasive, pain-free, non-pharmaceutical modality. To achieve the best results, this community has developed an approach that draws on emerging neuroscience, practical experience, and the therapeutic process. As a growing research evidence base supports this approach to changing lives, people who train, who do neurofeedback, report less reactivity and fear, greater calm, improved perspectives, and overall enhanced mental function.
← In this video, Dr. Mary Ammerman, psychologist and EEGer clinician, discusses the transformative power of neurofeedback.
Why EEGer?
EEGer Neurofeedback Software has evolved with the guidance of the experienced neurofeedback clinician community. With careful attention to what works in the therapeutic process of empowering clients, it is easy-to-use, stable, versatile, and powerful. Making very few assumptions about the goals of brain-training, EEGer enables the therapist to fine-tune the training in ways that few other systems permit.
A lively community of mental health professionals uses EEGer, sharing insight, strategies, ideas, and supporting one another. As the organization supporting the community and developing the software, our goal is actually very simple: we work to help cultivate global cultures of healing. We are grateful that we have this opportunity to directly support those who are empowering people to better regulate themselves. Changing the world, one brain at a time.
In this video, author and trauma therapist Sebern Fisher, and clinician and teacher Dr. Ed Hamlin discuss the community and software around EEGer →

Your Faculty
Leanne Hershkowitz is a licensed professional counselor in New Jersey specializing in the integration of counseling and clinical neurofeedback (a brain-based biofeedback approach to calming the fear-driven brain) for trauma including complex/developmental and adoption. She is also trained in internal family systems, canine-assisted therapy, EMDR, and attachment-based counseling approaches.
From an early age, Anna recognized the healing qualities of the arts, from expressing thoughts and feeling states to the regulating and grounding characteristics in the act of creation. She pursued a graduate degree in Clinical Art Therapy. In 2010, Anna was introduced to Neurofeedback and has since been dedicated to this as the foundational approach. She specializes in work with children, adolescents, and caregivers, incorporating Neurofeedback, Art Therapy, and Sensory Modulation into clinical sessions with those impacted by developmental trauma and neurodiversity. In addition to counseling, Anna offers mentoring, consultation, and original courses such as Up-Down Regulation, Regulating the Developing Brain, and she co-facilitates Neurofeedback in a Clinical Practice. Anna holds dual independent mental health counseling licenses in North Carolina and Massachusetts and is Board Certified in Neurofeedback. She is a part of the dynamic team at The Institute for Applied Neuroscience in Asheville, NC.
Dr. Clair L. Goldberg is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Montclair, NJ. Her client-centered approach draws from psychodynamic theory and interpersonal neurobiology research. She integrates treatment with other forms of neuromodulation techniques including neurofeedback, neuromeditation and Somatic Experiencing. In addition to her private practice, she teaches the Neurophysiology of Trauma as part of the Integrative Trauma Program at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, NYC. An experienced presenter and clinician, she specializes in neurofeedback for the treatment of developmental trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, medication reduction, as well as to enhance meditation practices and peak performance training.
Ellen Shaw-Smith is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Board Certified in Neurofeedback, and Certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Since attending her first introductory neurofeedback course in 2002, while working as a high school adjustment counselor, Ellen has been passionately committed to understanding the brain’s language of intelligent electrical communication. Her commitment rests on early recognition that this system, when respectfully harnessed, supports deep change via its direct interface with the brain and central nervous system.
Ellen’s early seminary education, along with her varied community mental health experience, shapes her eclectic approach to clinical neurofeedback and psychotherapy. These influences, along with extensive mentoring with trauma expert Sebern Fisher MA, BCN and neuropsychologist Dr. Ed Hamlin, prompted her to development a community education site for early and ongoing neurofeedback education in 2008.
