To practice neurofeedback, you need a clinical neurofeedback system. The system includes the software, the sensors, the amplifier, and supplies. These are part of the EEGer training kit. You will need to provide a computer that meets EEGer minimum requirements.

As a participant in this course, you’ll work with our experienced EEGer tech support staff as you set up your system on the right computer. And then in the course, you'll be using your own system as you learn from EEGer mentors. We’ve found that this provides a more accessible on-ramp for clinicians first getting oriented, and learning the skills of neurofeedback and therapy.

After the practicum, if you decide EEGer is not for you, you can return the equipment in new, working order and get a refund of a deposit.

In short, yes. As a licensed healthcare provider, after participating in the practicum with your equipment, meeting with your mentor, and passing the didactic lecture quizzes, you will be qualified to purchase EEGer.

Since EEGer4 is cleared by the FDA as a medical device for general relaxation, to be an EEGer clinician you need to be a licensed healthcare provider, and have taken a hands-on instructional course.

We also strongly recommend (but don't require) that neurofeedback clinicians develop a relationship with a mentor.

This course pathway will introduce you to neurofeedback, and give you a sense of how to continue your learning journey. As experienced clinicians will tell you, there is always more to learn. This training will solidly orient you to the evolving field of clinical neurofeedback.

• This course is only open to Licensed Clinicians, Graduate Students (or Graduate Degree holders in a relevant health field) on track to become Licensed Clinicians, and those training to become EEG Technicians working under the supervision of a Licensed Clinician. This course is not appropriate for Home-Users or Patients receiving neurofeedback treatment. There are few reasons for this policy:
  • The primary objective of EIN/EOP is to prepare clinicians to use EEGer in a clinical capacity.
  • EEGer is an FDA-cleared Class II medical device. It can only be used in a clinical or research capacity by individuals who meet licensing requirements, such as being licensed to practice in the field of mental health.

This course will provide the 36 hours of didactic training, and two hours of mentoring. Plus, it will get you started in your self-training and give you insight into what you will need in a mentor as you continue your journey.

The EEGer Training Kit contains the EEG equipment you will need for live neurofeedback sessions.

As part of the EEGer Introduction to Neurofeedback, you will receive one-on-one assistance installing and configuring your equipment from our expert tech support staff. Once you have chosen your course package and enrolled, our support team will contact you to schedule your appointment. The first three EEGer Online Practicum sessions are a requirement to qualify for a clinical EEGer license because we want you to gain practical hands-on experience applying sensors, reducing impedance, setting thresholds, and in general getting familiar with running a session.

But if you are unable to make one of the sessions, you can make it up by watching the recording and booking a private session with one of the mentors at an additional cost. If you are not planning to obtain a clinical license, and are not worried about the lost instruction, there is no need to schedule a private session with a mentor.

You can work through the 36-hour recorded didactic lectures at your own pace. They will remain accessible for 30 days after the last live practicum session (extensions available upon request). In addition, when you enroll, we will provide a course guide that will indicate which recorded lectures are absolutely necessary to be able to participate and understand the live online practicums.

For the online practicum, you'll need to attend at least the first three live three-hour sessions to pass the course. These take place March 03, 10, and 17, 2023 | 12pm - 3pm ET.

For the training kit, your system needs to be set up and working in time for the first practicum session. If you have purchased a training kit and still need assistance setting up within two weeks of the start date, please contact our tech support team.

The training kit license is good for 30 days after the last practicum session (no extensions available).

Our mission is to make clinical neurofeedback accessible as well as grounded in emerging neuroscience. For this reason, we are offering this online introduction to neurofeedback regularly throughout the year, every few months. Check back for future dates!

• Check with your accountant to see if there is a preferred option for claiming business expenses or upgrades.
